With this video, you will learn exactly what tools are required to successfully trim around a window in preparation for cladding, as well as offering a profile of the trim and an explanation of where the panels will fit. You will also receive helpful tips such as approximately how any screws will be needed to ensure your trims are securely fitted.
Tools required
- Tape measure
- Drill
- Screws
- Tin snips or mitre saw
- Set square
Step 1: Measure the area
Use the tape measure to measure the size of the window you need to add your trim around. Keep a note of the exact measurements for later.
Step 2: Cut the trim
Mark out the measurements on your trim. Then, using your tin snips, you can cut the PVC to size. If you don’t have access to tin snips, a mitre saw will work just fine.
Step 3: Attach the trims
Position the trim where you want it, and use the drill and screws to attach this to your window frame. Each trim will require around 2-3 screws.
Step 4: Clad around the trim
Now your window is effectively trimmed, then you can add the cladding to the rest of your wall. Both a windowsill and the wall panels will slot into the trim with ease.
